Wrongboarding in the ramp with Dylan

Blunts
Every session with Dylan, he seems to pull something else out of his bag of tricks. Luckily I had my camera close at hand, and got some flicks.

Now the only question I have left: What can't he do on a skateboard?

Frig yeah!

Some shots from a day at the proving grounds with a couple of the Team Gnar as Frig boys. Edit will follow.

The 67th Annual Governor General's Invitational

Hectic doesn't even begin to describe this one.
Everyone grouped up at Brendan's to be told the first one to push there gets a Shit Van t-shirt. Dale Tuckface upholds his title for the strongest push in Victoria.
When everyone finished arriving at the spot, we got things underway by revealing the "Wheel of Deal With It", which added special rules to our 1on1 heats like switch runs, no hands allowed, bonus Brendan, choose new opponent, and fooseball start. I guess I should've gotten a picture of that. I'm looking forward to the next time we use it!
Finals were intense. Brentwood versus Brentwood.

To say that this alley is greasy is a major understatement. There were so many leaves, about 87,000 different kinds of pavement, and a huge rock wall. Needless to say, everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly, and only a couple people got maimed.

Oh, and we broke the fooseball table.
More pictures will be out over the next couple days!

Thanks Regular Underground for the support and Heavy in the streets for T-shirts, again! Hev's the man for that shit, he must be printing them off using slave children in his basement or something, cause every time I ask for shit, he provides.

The Steeze is unbearable.

Local freeride god and hacky-sack enthusiast, Dylan Campbell, always shreds to the best of his ability. Which is quite high. Meaning he's really good. Like, really good.

More sliders from the "FUCK IT SLIDE COMP"

Browntown and Jeremy came down from Nanaimo to shred with us.
Even a Saltspringer showed up.

Big Red himself.

A couple shots from "FUCK IT SLIDE COMP" slide comp

Regular Underground's Ben Sloat gets huge and wins longest standup with 60 something feet. Congrats duder!
Jimmy Chhor was shredding hard and going into switch faster than I've ever seen someone.
Casual banana board shenanigans.
Thanks to Kurt Gallant and OneSix Boardshop for putting on a great slide-jam/comp thing. There were lots of people. Stoke was plentiful and fun was had by all.

Brendan gets bored with normal terrain

Sometimes you've got to spice up your ordinary free-ride spot.
Groms look in awe.

*Brendan's note: Victoria is filled with short, steep hills, many with all sorts of interesting features due to the age of the city, rocks, driveways, flaired sidewalks are all sorts of things that can be found. If you find yourself tired of the same old backside/frontside checks and spins, try utilizing some of the unique features at a spot, you'll find that sometimes, throwing a 6 foot power slide can be alot harder than throwing a fifty footer.

Russell Hustles

Rayne grom Ian Russell throws a toe in the corner at Britannia.
I hope this doesn't boost his ego too much.

So who knew that Ben Sloat could actually skate?

Ben gets way up there..

..and then throws a standie in the transition.
Ben had a really sick line at Regular Underground's indoor skatepark last night. He kinda pulled it out of nowhere, too. Everyone was shocked.

Noah was being a terror on the streets this summer.

Noah Hellreich the Onterrible crashed on Brendan's couch for a month and a bit for Whistler, Giant's Head and Saltspring. He went hard, for a guy with a 10lb ankle.

On a side-note: I want everyone to know that the last post I did was 11:59PM. CONTENT DAILY!! Even if it's filled with ridiculous over-tired ramblings.
That's it though, I swear.

Rallying on the Rash

I was all over the place this summer. The footage was bad. Also I spy a Vic Shit Van shirt?

Look before you leap!

And always make sure to stay in your lane!

*brendan note.
I meant to go into this subject a bit more, there are corners out there that you can cut the lane on, and corners you can't. but its important not to get too used to jumping the line because eventually you'll have to stay in your lane and you need to be able to know what you need to do. this corner for example, is very fun and easy to grip and you can see through it so apexing it's a breeze, however if you stay in your lane (and its wet dry) it becomes a very different corner. so keep your routine's varied and don't get sloppy out there just because the leaves have fallen off the tree's.

Brendan's epic skate face.

If any of you have skated with Brendan, you'll know what I'm talking about. He always seems to be able to perfectly describe the situation.

"Getting gnarly" moments
as well as "OSHI-" ones.

Kelsey at Kelowna

She skated as hard as should could all season, and quite frankly amazed me with her ability to get back up after crashing so much.
Hope to see you out there next year. Heal up strong.

The rain is upon us. Dress appropriately.

Don't let the rain slow you down or make you lose your stoke. It's BC. It rains. Go skate!!
And take your dog for a walk while you're at it.

Tight heats at Britannia Beach

One of the many things I love about sanctioned events is that we have an area to push our skills to the limit as safely as our sport can be. You get to go toe-to-toe with your buddies and meet lots of new people along the way. It's a really great experience, and I think everyone who is into longboarding should give themselves a chance to be apart of it.
